The SHTMS_A is a smart online transformer monitoring system developed by Shenzhen Shuanghe Electric Co., Ltd. Integrating transformer cooling control, temperature management, electric quantity monitoring, and non-electric-quantity monitoring, it is a micro computer-based, integrated transformer monitoring system.

? All in one:

The system is an organic combination of multiple logic devices. With a modular design and excellent extensibility, the user can freely and flexibly configure the number of channels for data collection. Simple but reliable, the system helps save on costs for purchase, management, and maintenance.

? Expert analysis system:

An expert analysis system is built, including an oil-gas analysis mathematical model (IEC 60599-compliant) and a heat management mathematical model (IEC 60076-7-compliant). Through the relevant data on oil-gas monitoring and temperature management, the system can conduct an initial analysis, diagnostics, and early warning of a transformer fault.

? Load management analysis:

The system monitors in real time load rates, judges the overloads in the transformer, and provides a corresponding load-shedding solution in order to improve its operational safety and cost-efficiency.

? Abundant I/O interfaces and extensibility:

The system can be maximally configured with two analog receiving cards (0-10v, 2×32 channels), one switch receiving card (32 channels), three switch output cards (double paths, idle contact, 3×24 channels), two extension cards (0-20mA, 2×8 channels). The numbers of I/O cards and extension cards are decided by the contents of user monitoring.

? Association analysis:

Further association analysis is made of the data collected from various functional modules and analytical results for mutual support, improving the correctness and consistency of diagnostic results.

? IEC 61850 standard:

The system supports multiple communication methods such as IEC61850, 103, and RS485. Modeled in line with the IEC 61850 requirements, it is interoperable with other smart devices and can be integrated with other intelligent systems for data sharing.

?  Real-time online monitoring:

Online monitoring is adopted to reduce the routine work of grid management personnel, avoid repetitive work, reduce workloads, improve productivity, and reduce operations & maintenance costs.

Main Purposes

    Uninterrupted power supplies have become a critically important factor in industry and the lives of people. As the transformer is like the heart of a power supply system, identifying its faults at the early stage is of great importance in ensuring its safe operations. The online transformer monitoring system is an important means to identify such faults and realize status-based, preventive maintenance. As an online transformer monitoring system, the SHTMS_A is suitable for such power entities as transformer substations and power plants as well as major industrial and mining enterprises, where it can be used for the online monitoring, control, and analysis of smart or traditional transformers.

Main Functions

The SHTMS_A adopts a modular design, by which the sub-functions can be flexibly combined and configured according to actual user requirements. Its functions include:

1） Cooling control: This transformer cooling control function implements the online balanced operation of the blower and oil pump in the cooling system, mutual backup, and intelligent protection, providing default phase, overload, and short-circuit protection for the power supplies, blower, and oil pump in the cooling system.

2）  Temperature management, which is the core of the SHTMS_A.

3）  Electric quantity recording and analysis: This is to monitor in real time parameters such as the active power, reactive power, apparent power, and power factor at the load side of the transformer; it can diagnose the overload operation of the transformer and provide a corresponding load shedding solution.

4）   Non-electric quantity monitoring: This is to monitor the oil level and light/heavy gas.

5）  Monitoring of dissolved gas in oil

6） Current monitoring at core grounding

7）  OLTC (on-load tap changer) monitoring

8）  Casing medium wastage monitoring

9）  Partial discharge monitoring
